The QLETEM campaign 2025 “DECIBELLIANS” highlights the importance of raising awareness about the impact of noise on hearing health, particularly among young people. Under the slogan “Turn the volume down, turn your hearing health up”, the initiative aims to draw attention to unhealthy listening habits and continuous noise exposure.
These three infographics show that prolonged use of headphones, frequent attendance at concerts, nightclubs or sporting events, as well as exposure to environmental noise or playing video games at high volume, can lead to permanent hearing loss. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 2 young people aged between 12 and 35 are at risk of hearing loss due to inadequate sound exposure.
