We provide some simple guidelines to communicate more easily with a hearing loss person and that might be very useful for professionals (health, security, emergencies, etc.) interacting with the general public during this health emergency.

Also remember that hearing loss people cannot read the lips of speakers who are wearing a mask, and listening is less clear and comprehensible.

This leads to added difficulties and makes it even more important for you to ensure the hearing loss person has understood the message. In the event of hospitalisation, wherever possible, hearing loss people should be allowed to use their hearing aid and be provided with batteries for it.

Pay attention to the doctor’s indications for people wearing an auditory implant (cochlear or other).
