APEINTA – Support for Inclusive Teaching: use of New Technologies inside and outside the classroom

The aim of the project is to achieve inclusive, equal teaching through the use of new computer and on-line technologies.
The aim is to provide students with hearing loss with access to the syllabus, offering study materials and accessible content, both in face-to-face classes, through live subtitling in the classroom, and an accessible digital platform that facilitates the reinforcing and expansion of the content of the subjects given in class, also providing the content given by teachers and any information of interest provided in the classroom on-line.

This provides students with hearing loss with direct access to the teaching/learning process without the involvement of any third parties.

The award-winning work also responds to one of the demands made by FIAPAS for more than twenty years, namely the development and provision of systems allowing for the real-time transcribing of the oral message into written text in order to facilitate access to information and communication by people with hearing loss through the oral language in all areas.

Therefore, the development and application of this type of support products opens up opportunities for hearing loss people to be included and participate in different social, occupational, cultural and educational environments.
